WELCOME TO
THE RHODE ISLAND
MOTORCYCLE ASSOCIATION
DEDICATED TO THE RIGHTS OF ALL MOTORCYCLISTS
DO YOU KNOW JUST HOW MUCH
R.I.M.A. HAS DONE FOR MOTORCYCLING ?
~ R.I.M.A. was founded in 1974 as A.B.A.T.E. OF RHODE ISLAND.
~ We were instrumental in the helmet law appeal of 1976.
~ We were pioneers in providing rider education in 1980.
~ In the past years we helped defeat legislation for mandatory lights on, equipment restrictions, and
numerous other discriminatory acts.
~ We sent representatives to Washington, D.C. to testify
and help defeat an OSHA proposal to mandate helmets
be worn when riding during working hours.
~ A delegation of our members went to Washington D.C. to discuss the repeal of federal helmet sanctions with
our Congressmen and Senators.
~ We sponsor the annual charity "TOYS FOR TOTS" RIDE.
~ We worked tirelessly to make handicap stickers and vanity plates for motorcyclists
a reality.
~ WE support and work with the Motorcycle Riders Foundation, The National Coalition Of
Motorcyclists, and the American Motorcyclists
Association to strengthen your national voice.
"LET THOSE WHO RIDE, DECIDE"
The Rhode Island Motorcycle Association is a political grass roots organization dedicated
to "Freedom Of The Road".
** We are
NOT a Club. **
R.I.M.A.'s goal is to provide the motorcyclists
of Rhode Island a strong, united voice with regard to their future way of life, safety, and their legal rights as motorcyclists
and citizens.
R.I.M.A. is open to anyone, regardless of age, sex,
way of life,
or type of motorcycle you ride.
